Are you eligible for a $25,000 grant to spend on having your roof replaced at your home?
It has been revealed that the national government will be offering a $25,000 HomeBuilder grant for new home builds and renovations.
There is an eligibility criteria for the HomeBuilder scheme, you must:
- Be a natural person ( i.e not a company or trust)
- Be an Australian citizen, aged 18 years or older
- You are on an income less than $200,000 for couples and $125,00 for individuals
- Spending between $150,000 – $750,000 on a renovation that is for a home that has been valued at less than $1.5million (pre-renovation)
- Be building a new home worth less than $750,000 (including land value).
Importantly, the tax-free grant will apply to all home wonders, not just first home buyers.
All types of dwelling will be eligible under the HomeBuilder scheme. However, the grant cannot be used on any additions to the property that is separate from the home, such as a pool, tennis court, outdoor spa and saunas, sheds, or garages.
The grant will commence on the 4th of June 2020 and run until 31 December 2020. The HomeBuilder scheme will aim to complement the first Home Owners Grant programs, stamp duty concession, and other similar grant schemes.
